“Daddy, I want a ball.” Samuel asked yet again. Samuel had been asking for a ball since he played with Joseph’s ball.
Daddy had told him no, but he refused to give up and kept asking every day. Daddy had stopped saying no, and chose to ignore him whenever he asked, but Samuel was not tired of asking.
“Daddy, I want a ball,” was the first thing Samuel always told Daddy after good morning, before he went to school, and the last thing he asked for before he said goodnight when daddy came back from work.
Nuggie and I tried discouraging him from asking continually. We told him, “Daddy will not buy you a ball. He would have gotten it by now if he wanted to.”
Samuel told us, “I will not stop, and he will get it for me.” So he kept on asking…
