Are you team DIY or you are working with your partner?

I woke up this morning feeling overwhelmed by everything I had to do, have not done and cannot do with myself, my children, business, career, husband e.t.c. I looked at people whose children knew different memory verses and other amazing things and I started feeling scared.

“You are a failure. Others are doing great things, see where you are!” this thought kept hammering over and over in my mind and I started getting discouraged and depressed.

Suddenly, I remembered this was not the first time something like this was happening to me, and immediately I sat up and took control.

The first time I was conscious of this, I had woken up to pray at night and different thoughts kept flooding my mind, “is this prayer even making any difference? Am I even enough? All the prayers I have been praying what good have I ever seen from it? is it not better I just go back to bed rather than wasting time doing what will not bring any results?”

If you have ever had any of these thoughts, welcome to the battlefield of the mind. In this battle, you either allow the thoughts swim in your mind till you are discouraged, frustrated, depressed and you give up or you catch the thoughts(like 2 Cor10:3-6 said) and defeat/push them down with the right thoughts.

Our minds are not dustbins that we allow anything that comes to sit and relax, we have a role to play by becoming the security guard of our minds.

On these two occasions, what did I do? I said loudly to myself, “I may not be or do enough, but Jesus is enough. He’s the All-Sufficient one and my partner; so where I am weak and defaulting, the strength of Christ is enough! My prayers are enough because it is not going in my name but in Jesus name. My work in the life of my children is enough because my children are taught of the Lord(Isaiah 54:13) and I am growing daily to bring them up right as God teaches me.”

It’s like this… Imagine you have a business partner who is a great marketer and you are great with making the things you people sell. When the time for marketing comes who will go? If you are wise, it will be your partner. Now the Holy Spirit through Jesus is our partner and He’s All-Sufficient, i.e wherever you are deficient, your partner is capable. Will you be worried when people tell you, you don’t know how to market or be confident in your marketing guru partner?

You don’t win the battle of the mind by keeping quiet and accepting the trash the devil brings to you… Read 2Cor10:3-6 and use your weapons right.

The Devil’s power is in your agreement with the thoughts he puts in your mind (and he will keep trying to bring these thoughts because he’s like a stubborn goat that doesn’t give up).

Will you agree with him like Eve did or tell him what your God has said?
