Ask, Seek and Find…

Recently I learned something on the Bible verse; ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened unto you… Let me illustrate.

So I went to my friend’s house who just put to bed and I wanted to prepare a nice meal for her. So I asked her, “what will you like me to prepare for you?”

She said Banga and Starch.

“Do you have the ingredients?” I asked.

“Yes, my mother in law brought everything when she came for omugwo, ask Beatrice my househelp, she knows where everything is.”

I went to the kitchen and started the process, I wanted to light the gas burner but I could not find the lighter/matches. I checked everywhere including the place I had seen them the last time I was in her kitchen but I could not find it, so I had to call Beatrice who came in, went straight to a container in the drawer and brought it out.

The same thing with the other ingredients needed, I had to go ask my friend on the quantity of meat to use and how spicy the children and spouse could handle it. At a point, the water finished from the overheard tank and PHCN had done its thing, I had to call Beatrice who called the gateman to switch on the generator and the pumping machine.
It did not occur to me to get angry or give up because I didn’t see the matches, know where the things were or the water had finished and there was no light. I just had to keep asking, seeking and knocking to access them because they were already available according to the owner of the house.

The same way you can not stand up to cook food without getting all the ingredients before entering the kitchen, God can’t send you to His kitchen(the world) without preparing all that pertains to life and godliness for us. But since it’s His house and kitchen, I need to ask, seek and knock for directions and answers but if I get angry or give up on the way… Wetin I gain?🤷🏼‍♀️

PS: #fiction I don’t know how to make Starch but if you bring the prepared starch, I promise to bring the Banga soup.
