Can two work together except they be agreed?
What if you found what you want to do and your spouse does not agree with your idea, business or plan?
Read: Wife… Where are you in the Equation?
Sometimes you want to start something but your spouse for one reason or the other does not agree with the idea. First off, these things are to be discussed before marriage (plans, dreams e.t.c. do not think anyone will change their mind later in marriage. make sure you trash those issues out and you are on similar page before you jump to “I do”) but in case they weren’t…
As much as there are sometimes selfish reasons for not giving approval… what is your past in this area? Are you flighty, jumping from one idea to another, dumping ideas when the going gets tough? You will then have to convince your spouse you are ready to settle and dig in this time around, hence patience.
Can you convince him on why he should go agree with it by explaining clearly what you want to do?
Are you ready to reach an agreement to meet at a middle ground? Because definitely routine is changing.
After you have done all, there is something called reporting your spouse to God. Don’t bother putting everything on force or manipulation. When you are convinced that idea is what you should do, you have prayed about it, researched it and you are sure. But you are not (maybe you are) sure your spouse is going to go with the idea when you take it to him.
Tell God about it before you inform your spouse (after all, he is the owner of the idea). “This idea you have given me, I don’t know how my husband is going to take it. but I want you to go ahead of me and take over the conversation, guide it in the right way, convince him.”
When you tell your husband and he still says has not agreed. Go back, learn more about the idea and keep preparing ahead, while you leave the Holy Spirit to do His work. He may say yes to that or bring another idea but do keep an open mind to whatever God will bring out of it.
At the end of the day it’s all about and for God. He will definitely not give us the idea just for us to be looking at it like pictures in our mind.
I have found reporting my husband to God works better for me than insisting on my way.
WARNING: God may not answer the way you want, so do not keep your mind fixed on only one way.
