Dera loved her cartoon and she had clothes and books with bags and water bottles of her favorite characters, she always got more for her birthday which was what she looked forward to always. Getting the new cartoon character gift.
“Aunty, I love the new cartoon they just started on TV, I am looking forward to getting the shirt or shoe.”
Really? Aunty Martha asked, what is it about and what do you like about it?”
Well, it’s about a girl in a magic school and at night they turn to different things to go fight evil. I love all the magic act and how they defeat the bad people.” I wish i could have power, so I can do magic like that.
“Well…” her aunt stood up and walked towards the kitchen while Dera followed her. “You actually do have power like that, even more than that.” She turned to see Dera’s incredulous look.
“It’s true! Where do you think magic comes from? Its a copy of the original. When you are learning to cook or bake, you look to the recipe to help you bring out that food. Its the same with magic, it’s a copy. The devil copied some of the things he knew from God and gives it to people as original, when you have known only the fake, even when you see the original, it looks the same to you.”
Dera face was wrinkled in concentration as she thought of all she had heard. “What do I do, are you saying I should stop watching cartoons?” She asked.
“Not at all! You can look at it this way, can you drink toilet water because you’re thirsty or eat goat food because you are hungry?” Aunty Martha asked. Dera shook her head vigorously in reply as she screwed her face in disgust.
Laughing at the comical look, aunty Martha continued “Just the way you can not feed your mouth trash because you are hungry, you should not feed your eyes trash because you want to be entertained.
You give your body different types of food daily, through your mouth, eyes, ears e.t.c it’s up to you if you are going to take trash or good food. by trash I mean the things you read, watch, listen to, talk about. When you keep eating healthy, it will be easy for you to not only recognise healthy original things but to walk with power easily instead of magic.
No matter how pretty magic is made to look, it’s still magic and fake, there can only be one original and it can only be found in God
Instead of having power to do magic like you want now, then you will be able to cancel all magic because you have the superior and original power for greater things.”
“Seriously! Can children like me do that?” Dera was getting excited at the thought of this.
“Of course!” Was Aunty Martha’s confident response.
“Show me how! Show me how!” Dera was thinking of how she could pray for the sick like the man she saw begging at the roadside with flies all over him, whom she had felt sorry for a few days ago.
