Parenting with God series 3(Bright’s Children)
Continuation from part A(https://www.ufedoloveillah.com/parenting-with-god-series-2/)
That week while still thinking what to do and trying to find a way, I came across a video on Instagram; the lady was talking about that post on “put your children in school you can afford…e.t.c” So she said, who determines what you can afford? Where is the place of God in putting a limit on what you can afford? After a lot of thoughts I realised we have been paying their school fee all the while what changed now that we feel we could not afford it? Were we putting a limitation on God?
I took these thoughts to my husband and he said he has not been okay with the idea of changing schools and he prefers we take them back and we will be able to handle it by God’s grace that has seen us through the previous payments.
The next week we resumed back at the old school and to our amazement, that same week, we that were unsuccessfully trying to pay 25% of the fees in the old school got a 100% of the fees without borrowing or begging. They remained in the school till we left Lokoja.
I got to understand there is the best school in the world or your country or even your state, but our prayers should not be for our children to go to the best school but for them to go to the best school for them (there’s a difference). When God directs you to a specific school for your child, ask him for school fees before resumption, the instruction may be the same or different per time, he will tell you how to go about it.
There was a time God gave my husband and I January school fees the previous year, but we thought it was chopping money and we went to chop life with it, let’s just say we will not repeat the same mistake again.
Secondly I realised public opinion does not make it the right opinion… Don’t let anyone lead you astray with empty philosophy and high sounding nonsense that comes from human thinking and from evil powers of this world and not from Christ (that is a Bible verse from Colossians 2:8)
Once again, parenting is a partnership. After God has done His part, you have a role to play and only a joint effort will make it successful… Manna may have fallen from the sky before, but even then, they had to go outside with their containers to pick it up.
What has God told you about that child/children?
