Phenomenal woman
I couldn’t post on Friday due to a slight delay; I finally resolved that, determined to post before 12pm on Sunday…you know what they say about the best laid down plans of mice and men right… my laptop refused coming on, we tried all the tricks and still nothing… so, I am perching meanwhile till the laptop issue is resolved (if you are a FGCU alumni, you will know what perching means LOL)…that will enter the list of things to get…
Anyways… Testimony Friday will come up this week, and the testimony I am sharing has a lot of God is good! moment, if you know what I mean…
So, I watched Jumoke Adenowo during her Appointment with Destiny Conference in London, over the weekend and she was saying something about the curse in Genesis, she said God placed three curses; Genesis 3:14-19…
To the serpent he said:
“Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all the cattle,
And more than any animal of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And dust you shall eat
All the days of your life.
“And I will put enmity (open hostility)
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed (offspring) and her [eSeed;
He shall [fatally] bruise your head,
And you shall [only] bruise His heel.”
To the woman He said:
“I will greatly multiply
Your pain in childbirth;
In pain you will give birth to children;
Yet your desire and longing will be for your husband,
And he will rule [with authority] over you and be responsible for you.”
Then to Adam the Lord God said:
“Because you have listened [attentively] to the voice of your wife, and have eaten [fruit] from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’; The ground is [now] under a curse because of you;
In sorrow and toil you shall eat [the fruit] of it
All the days of your life.
Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you;
And you shall eat the plants of the field.
“By the sweat of your face
You will eat bread
Until you return to the ground,
For from it you were taken;
For you are dust,
And to dust you shall return.”
She said among these curses, God only cursed the man to reap in toil and sorrow, just the way he told only the serpent to crawl on his belly he alone does that… no man/woman crawls on his belly except the snake.
The ground was cursed for man, he is the one told, he will eat in sweat and sorrow not the woman, so the woman is meant to be naturally prosperous!
When I heard this my brain and mind refused to accept this, I had to go back to the bible to confirm if this was really so…
Accepted, we are redeemed from the curse, but this means we (women) never had the curse of toiling in sweat hanging over us in the first place to be free from…
We were told we will give birth in pains and all that… no man has given birth yet, we are still the only one giving birth, even the pain in childbirth with the redemption through Christ; I know (not heard/read of but know)of people who gave birth without pain.( Supernatural Childbirth by Jackie Mize talks more on childbirth without pain).
If for the sake of argument we say it’s not for the man alone but the woman also, that means the man has to give birth and his desires has to be for the woman…e.t.c like the curse for the woman says too right? since we are sharing everything.
So where did I carry the mindset of everybody toiling in tears before eating from? Is it believing or acting in solidarity with the men?
I always thought I should just concentrate on my husband’s success, when he is, then I can look at me and work/pray for my success… but there is nothing wrong with both of us being successful in our different field. I remember Omilola Oshikoya; author of The Richer Woman making a statement, she said finding her purpose helped her husband find his… the answer to our prayers for our husband’s breakthrough may be in our hands, in walking God’s path for us.
Having something, knowing something, believing it, and acting on it are entirely different things… we can have it and it will be of no use because we do not know we have it; we can know but not believe it and we can believe it and not act on it… what am I saying, believing is acting and it goes hand in hand.
Now, as a woman we have no excuse…be it house wife or not we are wired right from the beginning to flourish in different ways even financially, intellectually and all the ally you can think of… even in the comfort of your home if it’s stay at home mom that you want to be… my part is to believe it and ask God for wisdom on how to go about it.
I am beginning to understand Proverbs 18:22 which says, he who finds a wife has found a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord…we are really help meet indeed, not only helping with chores and the children but God designed us for a greater purpose than that…
If as a man you choose to suppress the brightness of your wife and dim her glow…you deprive yourself of abundance, not in finance alone. If you as a woman become too big for your head, it does not stop your brightness because it is part of your make up but like Rick Rigsby said… Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity.
A successful woman is that one who is walking in her proper factory setting but an unsuccessful woman is someone acting below par, not utilizing all the features she has, who shortchange herself, and deprives all those God has placed in/around her life because by default, she is blessed and a blessing! Being successful as a woman should be a normal thing…
The question that has been begging for answer while studying this is….
What is my excuse?
XOXO
