The King’s Light

There lived a city without light, thick darkness covered everywhere, so a wealthy king decided to give them light, he supplied each house with light and the darkness could no longer be in charge because everyone had light to move around with.

The king sent messengers telling the people he was coming and they all looked forward to his arrival, they wanted to know who this their helper was. It was years and years but he kept sending messengers but never showed up.

One day, a rumour started going around that the king was around and the people were surprised to see who was parading himself as the king. He had no bodyguards no fanfare, the only thing noteworthy about him was he behaved differently.

The people were not happy with this supposed imposter, they decided to kill him before the main king hears and punishes them. So they plotted and looked for a way to do it.

Meanwhile, for all the people who followed and believed the king, he showed them how to make their light shine brighter, and how to fix their light, he taught and guided them on the power of the light. All these they learned while the other people were concentrating on looking at what was wrong and how to get things back to how it was… Why fix it or make it better if it is not broken?

They wanted the king but on their terms, they did not want anything to change and they were ready to do anything to make sure things remains as they were, King or no king.

Anyway, they got their wish and killed the king. They are still waiting for the king to come but those who believed and followed the king are sharing their skills with others and more people are beginning to come into the light daily and shine brighter daily.
