Waiting Season 2
My search began in Isaiah 40:31, NLT says “…those who trust in the Lord…” Other version said “…those who wait on the Lord…” So wait and trust are used to mean the same thing.
Also, Palm 37:7 MSG translation writes “wait” as “to be prayerful”
Mount up with wings as eagle – meaning a fresh or new strength to continue and go over the boundary.
This reminds me of Hebrew 12:1 and an incident while in secondary school. During the inter-house sports rehearsals a boy was picked to represent his house for the long distance race(he had aced the short races and was one of the best in his house).
The race began and he saw that it was too much for him midway through it. He began crying, “I can not make it!” All his house members including the house teacher kept encouraging him but when they saw him about to give up, they all began to run with him, clapping and chanting, “Awulu, you can make it!” Over and over, even when he kept crying, “I can not make it!”
He did not win the race but they gave him the push he needed to complete the race. That incident has stayed with me 22years after.
It paints a picture of life as a race of hurdle, where you keep running and jumping over the barriers while God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, alongside the people placed in your life encourages, guide and push you when you want to give up, quite or throw in the towel.
Do you see the cloud of witnesses surrounding you?
Do you hear the clapping hands and singing voices cheering you on?
